He looks like he's about to burst into tears at any given moment. He's not fast. His heading is terrible. His passing is pathetic. Probably one step up the ladder from Jagielka and Williams, and that's nur exactly praising him. Needs to be kept but third choice next season. Nobody will give us good money for him, so keep him and try and improve him.

I always thought he had a decent bit of pace, but watching how easily he is turned (on numerous occasions now) and then left for dead makes me wonder.
Looks like he's lost any enthusiasm for playing at the moment. He's not the quickest, but as you say, didn't look slow at Burnley. He looked very good at Burnley as a solid defender but hasn't shown it here yet. Some glimpses but nothing like the season he had before joining us.

I wonder if it's a confidence thing - wouldn't be surprised if he improves a lot next season under a different set up.

He needs a bit of stability, couldn't have helped him having one week Williams alongside him, then Jags, then Holgate.

The thought of that away game at Southampton still pisses me off big style though, he bottled it, and I still say when he indicated to the bench that he was 'injured' was a load of tosh, we were getting run ragged, and he didn't want to know, I could just see it in his demeanour from my seat.

Can’t we just drop him off in Burnley on Saturday?

And do the same with Williams & Sigurdsson when we go to Swansea?

....Just a friendly to organise in Amsterdam & we're restored to pre Koeman. Just £90 million lighter..

I think this is key! When he was looking like a decent young centre half at Burnley he had only one partner (provided that partner was fit). Now Keane (and Holgate too) have to ride the defensive waltzers at Everton, with centre half pairings coming and going like the cheesy (possibly VD riddled) blokw who used to spin the waltzers to make them go faster.

He is no Ratcliffe, but he always looked a good solid center half at Burnely. i agree with what Sagey said regarding them playing a deep back four, nevertheless he did look good in it. When we play deep on the other hand, he just looks like he is crapping himself? Our coaching staff appear to train all skill and confidence out of our players damn them!
