..that was as bad a display of defending as you can get. He spoke lots before the game but needs to do his talking on the pitch. Lacks athleticism, lacks quality but more of a concern is he appears to lack character.

Amazing how he was identified by our scouting network.
This is what happens when you buy players off the back of stats rather than watching them I guess

I think people are going a bit OTT on Keane. He won the ball more than anyone else in our defence. Williams is the one who let us down.

Nope. He gets bossed by aggressive strikers and isn't dominant in the air. He's slow and not up for a physical battle.

Williams is just awful hot-headed yard dog. Keane is just lost and doesn't have the ability to cover his frailties

He’s more dominant in the air than anyone else we’ve got.

I think the issue with Keane(may be more than one), is hes not capable of being the lone rock defender, the one who cohesively keeps the defense together. Hes not capable of being "the guy". I think though that he is capable of defending well when hes surrounded by good defenders and beside a top CB, using his height and physical strength to keep balls out of the box. The problem is exacerbated by him being paired with Williams, and in a mostly terrible back 4. Despite how poor he was at times today, the only reason Burnley scored today was because of Williams being a waste of space on the 2nd, and Pickford for some reason not coming for the 1st. Holgate definitely needs to be our #1 right now, and let Keane and Mori fight with Jags for #2.

Made to look totally ordinary today by ashley barnes, a second-rate striker that he should be very familiar with from his time at Burnley. I was prepared to give him time but this performance convinced me that he's not good enough. Another shocking signing in the Steve Walsh era.

Keane was completely left in the dust for the first goal, forcing Pickford into make the second mistake in a sequence that led to Burnleys first goal
