Kenny - promising youngest but never a first teamer.

Williams - Beyond desperate as a Premiership footballer. He sadly cannot start again this season.

Jagelka - Same with Williams. I cannot believe he got another contract after his last season.

Martina - He is worse then Kenny and he is our own left back cover until January!

Holgate - is he a right back or centre back. Never played with Keane as a pairing which is worrying that he can’t budge Williams or Jagelka.

Baines - Yet again his days at the highest level are done but we have no other choice.

To blame 1 man is stupid because collectively our defence is woeful.

Yes true but on an individual performance basis, Keane is awful.

He can't head the ball, position properly, tackle, pass... none of the basics.

He is totally out of his depth.

Actually tempted to say Williams and Jags are better than he.

The thing is, the unit being poor doesn't excuse individual errors.

When you have poor/struggling players either side of you, you might make a few poor decisions because you don't trust your team mates, and you might look worse because you're being left stranded. What having poor mates won't make you do is stand flat footed as people dribble round you, it won't make you run under a ball which is sailing over your head, it won't make you duck under a goalbound shot so you don't get your shirt muddy, it won't prevent you from tracking runs, tackling people or passing to team mates. Keane has made all of those mistakes and more recently, and it's about time he started taking some responsibility.

Hadnt seen a lot of him before signing, but based on the reactions on here I would have thought him a lot better.

Maybe he's suffering from playing in a very poor defence. He's played for England, so he must've been doing something right
at Burnley. Why else would Everton have paid 30 million for him?

Coleman - Keane - Funes Mori - Baines/Garbutt could work OK in a few weeks time.

Would be an improvement on what we're seeing now, surely.

I cannot believe we paid all that money for him...he is so slow (I've seen buses turn faster), poor athleticism, poor positioning poor intelligence, cowardly defensively and totally demotivated...going through the motions...

Vast majority of Burnley fans thought Mee was the key to their defence, not Keane. This is proving to be true as the loss of Keane hasn't affected them one bit, if anything they are better.

He played for England and almost scored a terrible OG too.

We overpaid for almost every player we signed because we were so short sighted

in reality he's just had all his confidences zapped out of him playing with jags and Williams.

if we sign 2 premier league standard CB's in January then this lad will step it up a notch too

He is always flat footed, slow, doesn’t read a game very well, loses the man he’s marking, can’t head and his distribution is woeful.

Sounds just like me when I was in my prime in the Business Houses!
