Marten de Roon has openly admitted he wants to join us in the future so I think he should start by scoring a brace of own goals.

Can't believe we would give him a job after this backhanded compliment though:

"I won't get to play for Manchester City, or another club among the top five in England.
But I do think that I can develop myself to the level needed to play for a club like Everton"

Thanks Marten, you helm.

I reckon Rom will be up for this one, 1-3 to the mighty blues.

Classic Dutch honesty.

I'd love to see 4-0 with goals from Lukaku, Coleman, Davies and Lookman. But realistically, I have a feeling this will be a tough one and we'll probably come out 1-0 (with a last minute goal from Barkley that no one sees coming).

Anyway, on the game ... Gana back in for Barry, perhaps Davies back in for McCarthy, and probably Mirallas back in for Lookman (tough away trip against a physical Boro side may not be his jam just yet!). No need for a back 3 against an isolated lone striker, so 4-3-2-1 for this one IMO.

-----------------Robles
--Coleman--Williams--Mori--Baines
-------Davies--Gana--Morgan
-----------Barkley---Mirallas
-----------------Lukaku

Not sure about that lineup. It makes us VERY narrow going forward and invites the opposition to play wide, pinning Coleman and Baines back. I think I would prefer to stick with what has been working and use three at the back, allowing Baines and Coleman to play higher up the pitch.

It's an obvious thing to say but you just can't see a lot of goals in this game. Hopefully Rom getting 4 goals will make him hungry for more and it's also great to have a goalkeeper in form. I fancy us to win 1 0 with Tom Davies impressing again

Don't like the way they set up, at least all the other sides down there have a go.

Playing at home you would expect them to come out a bit which would suit us perfectly, but I think they'll play for a draw from the off.

Always think the best way to deal with sides like Boro is hit them hard and early.

We are probably due a disappointment but with the form Lukaku in particular takes into this game, it's hard to see us losing if we scored first.

And who exactly are you better than in that Everton midfield Marten? I'd have you down about 5th in the pecking order for CM.

I can sense this being a 1-0 either way, either Negredo will bag them the points from a cross or we'll get them with a moment of magic, feeling a late Lookman goal from the bench.

1 - 1

Overconfident Everton come out slow in 1st half, concede from counter attack. Huff and puff 2nd half late equaliser from Coleman.
