Migrant Crisis

Again, you keep talking about how ridiculous my post (with videos, images and quotes from the actual situation) is, yet you're still not providing anything to back up your claim. Ever heard the phrase "talk is cheap"? You must have.

In fact, that's three times you've simply said "you're wrong". I'd rather not be brought down to this level of highly intellectual discussion if you don't mind.
as I have said again and again. I think you need to think about the statement and why it may not be true. when I genuinely feel you have done this then we can chat

Sort 10,000 homeless brits out first. Charity starts at home.
If we are in a position to help others then we should.

The only people we should be housing in this country are our own and also any immigrants that have something to offer. Please bear in mind that a lot of doctors, nurses and such are often born outside the UK.

Homeless people in the UK have access to charities and state financial aid - they also have the opportunity to get jobs.

Refugees have none of that - personally I don't see why we can't help both.

Agree with your points other than the bit about Germany. Can't comment about what it was like 15 years ago in Dortmund but the news last night had a survey which showed most Germans are in favour (more so in the west than the east) of letting them in and the main difference of opinion is whether they stick with the current numbers or start letting in more.

exactly that, "the news" .. I'm questioning the media's motives and proper, full reporting of the facts.

re: Germany I'm still in touch with some of my ex-colleagues, they are regular working, family people ... and they are concerned about the influx of migrants. They don't want to see more. Their point is why would anyone / any country want to re-settle or offer asylum to so many migrants ? I'd like to see the media ask that question or anyone stand up and ask that question without being slated as racist / facist / inhumane.

The 3 y/o infant who drowned, (sorry he is Syrian not Turkish as per my previous post) was buried in his hometown today. How the hell did he and has family get back home so quickly ? I guarantee this ... scheduled airline from Kos to Kobani would take longer even if you had made reservations. How much of this is orchestrated by the media and why ?

'welcome all people until they break the law' how can that translate to an 'open door to anybody'. who is it exactly you want to exclude for no reason?
All people surely means anybody. I want to exclude anybody who can't improve our country. These migrants don't offer anything of worth, there are plenty of Syrians in our country who have come here through the correct channels because they where able to bring a certain skill.

I think it's great if Germany opens it's doors, they have the space and the houses in place. But before they try to lecture the UK they should first look elsewhere........

didn't mean it as lecturing, just trying to give an idea of german public attitudes to the issue

Strangely enough, my eldest brother lived & worked just outside Dortmund (Arnsberg) in the mid 90's. He was warned by the natives about Dortmund's turkish population but ignored it as some sort of racism, and was subsequently ran through the streets of dortmund by several turks, all tooled up, all quite happy to do him some serious harm......Simply because he was alone, white, british & refused to pay the brass of a barmaid (german) the equivalent of a tenner for a glass of beer.
.

Please don't misunderstand me, we're signing from roughly the same hymn sheet. The Turks were a problem in Germany and I don't think it;s unfair to say were responsible for lots of the antagonism that existed whether it be with Germans or British Squaddies, the common denominator was the Turks.
