Essentially yes. If we finish top half this season I'm not sure he gets sacked. I'm not sure I rush out to get Arteta in.

I am mate but we cannot use that as excuse.For me his first season was a bye but this season he needed to be top 6 at least, and what I have seen this season I cannot see that happening.

This is never a top 6 squad. The squad has got worse since last season, I don't know why anybody thought we would move up the league. I said at the start of the season 8th would be par for me. 7th would mean he'd done a good job, 9th or 10th would mean slightly under but not sackable. Anything under that and there's grounds for getting rid I think.

Fair enough, everyone's entitled to their opinion. For me, getting this squad to the top 6 would be akin to Moyes getting us 4th. We finished 8th last year, lost 2 key players in the summer and will be without another one for virtually the whole season through injury. We still haven't got a reliable striker and last year's 5th choice centre half has become this year's first choice almost by default. If he gets us top 6 I will start to think he's a very very good manager.
 
I have said it on toffeeweb on transfer deadline day (for those who think im being a smart arse) but Marcel Brands has alot to answer for.
He knew for months Zouma and Gana were going but done nothing about it really - more so the centre half position than midfield.

For me he spent too long chasing Zaha when he should of been spending what was left for a centre half. Marcel has done a wonderful job but chasing other positions instead of those that needed reinforcing stunk like Walsh chasing number 10's instead of replacing Lukaku.

On that basis although i get angry at Silva when we lose, i dont think this underperforming squad can be all blamed on Silva. He even alluded to it last week after southampton.

I dont think the CB has really hurt us yet, we arent conceding loads of goals.

We are creating chances most games also, the CB thing has been massively overblown.

We arent even a million miles were we need to be, we just need a few more breaks and players to perform at the level we have seen from most of them.

The squad is far from perfect, but its show at times that its capable and able.
