Like most of the food chain it's been altered by profit seeking whoppers so that food doesn't resemble the original, so maybe there's an element of truth in that.

Indeed, no one has a clue what is going on. I think it’s entirely possible that established power structures saw the threat posed by social media and the loss of the control of specific narratives, that the whole thing is/was intentionally flooded with total nonsense.

I'm more amazed of how and why these people are randomly filming an area of a city when some powerful laser appears in the dead-centre of the recording.

This is where I'm at. Moons ago, back in the 80s-90s there was a Marathon/Snickers advert around an elephant swimming to New York, goi g up an escalator to get the chocolate. The CGI(?) was so good, (not a 'believable' scenario though obv) from then one I questioned every bit of film I saw. Since then it's got better...

You are far too rational and evidence-based. Why not just go with the wholly believable idea that the Deep State has developed a powerful space lazer and, you know...just for kicks, they decided to try it out on a highly lucrative tourist destination. Sure, I'm mean why not. Totally legitimate alternative to wild fires caused by desiccated leaves, high temperatures, and low humidity.

I have no issue with the people making up this nonsense, but how people believe it is beyond me.
