Well this isn't minor to me right now - bloody private car park owners who run the retail car parks for major hardware superstores, who charge absolute exorbitant fines if you so happen to leave site for literally 30 minutes in order to go to the bank across the road, 200 yards away and get stuck in a queue, only to come back to a fixed penalty notice of a £100 fine (!!!!!!!!!!!!), reduced to £60 (!!!!!!!!!!) if you pay within 14 days!

I run an asset management company that looks after retail parks.....
We give 2 or 3 hours and generally show leniency. The legalities of enforcing fines are really tricky. Google it - there's various sites that advise what signs need to be visible and wordings etc.
Or send me a PM and if I know the owner/management company I'll say you're a mate and see if it can be dropped

People who take offence, in general. Seem to recall someone complaining to a school cos they'd provided parents with a list of kids names (for organising invites for kids parties etc) and had highlighted the boys name in blue and the girls in pink (as per global common standard). Some parents complained saying it was sexist or some other nonsense. Get a life!
