minor things that make you fume

At the back end of last year, a guy was painting the house at the back of me. He did a good job so I asked my neighbour to send him round. He came round, had a look at what I needed doing, made some measurements (spent about 20 minutes) said he would send a quote. Never heard a word since. There were some workman working on my next door neighbours house recently so I asked them did they do Painting. They didn't, but said they knew someone who did. I wrote out my name and address and phone number and they said they would pass it on. That was about 6 weeks ago, haven't heard a thing.

I need wooden sash windows replacing, so it's a serious few bob, as it's a craftsman job. One fella failed to turn up on Monday, others don't even respond to emails or messages left - it's bonkers !

I have two daughters aged 19 and 21. I've been trying all my life to get them interested in the mighty Blues, but, with no success. With England doing well they've both suddenly developed an interest in football and they are off to the pub tonight to watch the game. By August, I'll still be watching Everton on my own.

And this is a big reason that I won't be going the pub tonight. I went out for the last 16 match v Colombia and there was people filming the TV with their mobile when Kane was stepping up for the penalty??? And this whole "Throw beer everywhere!! Scenes!!!" thing is doing my head in.

I watched the Sweden game at home and then the missus was telling me about all the people complaining on FB about not getting served straightaway and it being crowded without realising that they were a contributing factor to those issues.

At least if England get beat I'll have the consolation of being able to go to the pub for the final and enjoy the match.

Forgot to pay the toll on the Mersey Gateway Bridge. That £2 crossing will now cost £22.

I'm not sure if I'm fuming that they've replaced a free bridge with a toll bridge, that the Jubilee Bridge will be a toll bridge when that reopens or if I'm just fuming at myself for forgetting.

You`ve got to say, that it`s really made a big difference though, as the old bridge was a massive pain and the Police used to hang around it with speed guns all the time too.

Speed guns don't bother me. It's the cashing in on forgetfulness - plenty of people will forget due to medical conditions or something important happening and Halton Council are taking full advantage of that.

You should be able to pay the toll on the bridge or be given longer than the following day to remember. I can't think of many other services that are so severe in payment penaltys that they can justify a 1000% charge so soon - I bet quite a few struggle to take in the signage for payment while concentrating on what lane they should be in and other important issues while driving.

Not excuses for me as I know it well but I can imagine a few have been done by it through no fault of their own.

I fully agree mate.

One of my mates runs a b&b in Hale Village and it`s a nightmare for his customers who are coming from outside Liverpool and don`t know about it.

If you multiply that by all the tourists, people who use their airport etc, they must be raking it in with the fines.

Seven / fourteen days would`ve been a more realistic time span to pay.
