Someone explain to me why Claudia Webbe is not in prison, and why she has not been booted out of the House of Commons.

Unbelievable hypocrisy from the mainstream media, salivating over Owen Paterson (who, incidentally, has absolutely no defence for his corrupt actions) and baying for his head on a pike, but saying absolutely nothing about Claudia Webbe being found guilty in a criminal court.

She isn't booted out of the HOC because she didn't receive a prison sentence of 1 year or more. There will very likely be a recall and she will very likely lose her seat. However, a recall is only possible once the appeals process around her conviction has been exhausted. Until all that is done she is free to continue as an Independent MP following her expulsion from the Labour Party.

That's the law as it stands in accordance with the Recall of MPs Act 2015.

All of that is quite easy to find from a huge number of mainstream media sources which covered the story extensively from her being charged back in September 2020, her conviction in October 2021 and her recent sentencing.

Why do so many people seem to support the RS by default? People who have no apparent connection to the club. I know the answer but it still makes me fume!
