Whenever I go out it reminds me how much I dislike the general public.
Having said that, it's far more pleasant up here than it was in London. I detested every time I had to leave the house in that expensive dump. So many people who are just rude for no reason at all.

One of the most daunting experiences I have had was travelling through London on the tube in full army kit. Large back pack and very large 'sausage' pack which was carried on the shoulder. The only consolation was that most experienced tube travellers gave you a wide berth! (1950's)

First time we've embraced this phenomenon. In years gone by I've bought boxes of junk to give to callers but was mystified why so few came and knocked on the door.
Seems we should have put pumpkins or similar to advertise we're participating.
Anyway as I type had loads of youngsters chaperoned by parents and it's been surprisingly good fun
