minor things that make you fume

Possibly wouldn't regard it as minor. But e5 fuel sucks big time. Feel the car has lost loads of power and anytime you put your foot down you can see the fuel level drop. Worked out getting 8miles to the gallon less. The main concern though is the lack of power. Feels dangerous. My car felt like it was going through treacle moving off the line. It was a nightmare on busy roundabouts.
Sacked it off and gone back to E10. Luckily Tesco still sell it as their premium fuel. Car feels loads better.
Think you have your numbers the wrong way round. ?
The new E10 is not compatible with my old Avensis. As you say Tesco still sell E5 but at premium prices
There have been many complaints about E10 and loads of people are mixing the two types 50/50

Yep, your right. Numbers wrong way around.
I don't buy the environment spin on it. Burning a ton more fuel. That can't be good.
Seems like a profit and tax grab. Add on to that the rising cost in general. You ain't telling me there are many more cars on the road, than before the pandemic, that demand has sored, enough to make oil and petrol scarce. Rubbish. The oil companies just grabbing back their lost money from lockdowns.

Take it from a Czech road user, you would miss them if they were gone. My drive into Pilsen (fourth largest city in the country) is frequently punctuated with unannounced roadworks and they think nothing to blocking one side of the carriageway and leaving it to you to work out how to get around them.

On one section of road recently the queue waiting to clear the obstruction caused got to about two kilometers in length because the vehicles travelling in the opposite direction were doing well over 100km/h and they also have no idea that there will be vehicles on their side of the road.

It's just part of the lottery of a standard drive in central Europe, along with potholes you could lose a battleship in, people pushing handcarts in the middle of the road and wild boars.
We have wild bores, they are annoying.

Just bite the bullet mate and go for the Shell V Power.

I was very sceptical of the gains, but I`ve been converted.

I reckon the hike in filling your car up with it, is outweighed by the extra mpg you get.

Plus the car runs so smoothly on it, it`s untrue and the engine seems quieter too.

I have to watch the RS twice a season at the derbies, the rest of the time I ignore them, fast-forward MOTD unless I know that they’ve lost. This evening, however,on the way home from Widnes v Marine I thought I’ll have a pint in The Central, not been there for ages, always have cask ale on. Two effin jeffin goals they scored  ruined my pint of Wainwright.

With Shell V Power, you're getting extra MPG, better overall performance and reduced engine wear over the life of the engine.

If you're only doing short journeys, the difference may not be as significant but for a lot of people you'll see that it's worth the extra pence per litre.

On another note, supermarket fuels are awful for your engine in the long term if that's all you ever use because of the level of detergents they use, or lack of.

They recommend a 1-in-3 tank being a brand (Shell etc.) rather than cheap stuff even though it comes from the same refinery due to the the cleaning process.

Completely agree. I only use V Power in my cars. The petrol version is very good but the diesel V Power is impressive. Since running my cars on just V Power (about 5 years) i have never had an engine issue on any of the cars, get better mpg, runs quieter & smoother, quicker & the cars start easier after being sat for a while especially during winter. 100% worth the extra money especially if you run cars older than thier warranty periods.
