minor things that make you fume

My effin mrs.

She usually works Sundays but has today off. I think I’ve done well in getting to lunch time without an argument but I just had to tell her to bugger off back to work.
I get 2 days a week off, Saturday and Sunday. In my old job I used to get loads of time off so I could do the family bit in the week and go to the footy on Saturdays. I’m a reasonable man so I’ve compromised with her and every other Saturday I miss the football and spend the whole day with her walking around garden centres and stuff. Sunday therefore is my day to myself… a day where I have my litttle routine of getting up, having a couple of cups of coffee, get a shower, have another coffee and watch a bit of tv, maybe have another coffee and some toast whilst radio 2 quietly plays in the background. Then I’ll do any washing that needs doing, have a tidy around if needed and brush and mop the floors. The afternoon then is my own to do whatever I want…. But oh no… not today ….. today relaxing is against the law… as soon as she got up it started… we need to do this today.. we need to do that today…. We need to go to the shops today…. I simply said no. Big mistake. I then further compounded my mistake by asking the simple question “why can’t you go do the shopping by yourself ? Why do you need me there ?” ….. honestly you’d think I’d just shown her photos of me in bed naked with her mother. Why can’t women grasp the concept of doing nothing on a Sunday ffs. One little bonus is she’s not speaking to me now and is in a sulk… which is great. I can even put up with her huffing and puffing, stomping around and the constant changing and banging coming from the kitchen area… I simply turn the tv up which I know is annoying her even more….. great.

Interviewed a lad this morning, really nice guy who used to be a lorry driver but had a black out on the A1 caused by (a then undiagnosed) cyst on the brain and is recovering from brain surgery. Had to phone him late this afternoon and tell he’d been unsuccessful….. didn’t make me fume so much as making me sad.

I think it’s good business practice to call unsuccessful applicants. A lot of places don’t even say anything
