I think there might be a button or something they need to press to input payment option.
A surprisingly high number of people don't appear to realise they're allowed to get their preferred payment option to hand BEFORE it's required. They seem to be completely oblivious and then spend a solid 2 minutes digging around in their bag for it while everyone stands around waiting. During this time they'll pull out a card, change their mind, count the money they have to hand, realise it's not enough, dig out another card then change their mind and go back to their original card.

Oh yeah there’s a button because it’s like that where I work but it takes a second to press card payment. It just sounds really robotic because I hear it all the time and we never say it where I work. Yeah I get that when people are farting about with change for ages and asking how much is there and then how much more they need to give.
