Like being back in school. It's used by people who work part time in offices. It means you don't have a permanent desk in your office, and whoever is in the office that day gets to use the desk

Sometimes the stairs are hidden away in the corner of the floor and makes more sense to meet folk at the lifts if they don't have floor access etc. But I do generally agree. It is the lazybastard culture. The same thing that causes people to have to park their car the absolute closest they can manage to their eventual destination, as if walking the extra 50 yards would kill them. In my last job, the building had 4 floors, and those working on the 1st floor would take the lift to attend meetings on the 3rd rather than, god forbid, use the stairs.

My current workplace has a set of stairs directly next to the lifts, yet you'll still see folk taking the lift down from the first floor.
Don't agree about the parking though. Why wouldn't you park near the entrance?
Do you deliberately park miles away and enjoy the walk? Some people arrive at our work, in our very large car park, on a sunny dry day, and for some reason trawl run the aisles finding the closest space they can to the turnstiles to the offices, which is then a 5 min walk at least to their desk. There are all lazy fatbastards, so why not park up anywhere and get the extra exercise especially as you have to walk the extra 5 mins regardless of where you park.
on the highway.
It was a highway lid.So close to a massive negging Friend

You see the same thing at golf courses - people who park on verges rather than an actual car bay to save themselves a 20 yard walk. Then go for a 8km walk around a golf course. It is the lazybastard culture.
