Getting a call from the kids school at 2pm this afternoon to be told that my halfwit daughter, who broke her arm being a halfwit last week, has been mucking about with the cast and it's come down over her hand, and 'someone really needs to take a look at it'. I make my excuses with work (not easy, being a consultant, I probably should've booked it as half-day) and legged it for the train. 1 hour later I'm picking the kids up from the school reception sweating and absolutely seething.
Get home, tell my daughter to try and pull the cast back down over her arm. 10 seconds later, it's back in place. Unbelievable. When asked how it happened, she told us she'd tried to pull it off. Instead of trying to just pull it back on, she tells a teacher and they go into full panic mode.
Not sure who I'm more angry with - my daughter for being such a monumental nob, or the school for being so over-reactive and refusing to apply a bit of common sense. They knew it was an incredibly minor fracture and a bit of effort wasn't going to make her arm fall off.
KIDS! ARGH!
