minor things that make you fume

Just had a massive argument with my collegue. Over something that to be honest was childish and unprofessional.

Short of it, was saying i filed an email away in the wrong place even though i told him i hadn't even seen it. Then i fumed at him for the fact he was accusing me of it and not taking my word, then even better he was telling me the email had mistakes i had made on it, and said the words 'check it, ok'. which then i flew off on him asking why he was speaking to me like he was above me etc.

Proper fumed at him, i even gave him chance to apologise to me and he didn't.

Pfft. Arguing over the filing of an email. Only in Ashworld.

it wasn't what is was over, it was the fact i told him several times i hadn't and he kept accusing me, essentially calling me a liar. the guy is a tit, never says a word to me usually, refused to train me when i started in the job, will even walk off when trying to strike up conversation, probably use his ethnicity as an excuse for these things but fine with others.

As i say i wasn't fuming at the spark of it, just of accusing me of something that i hadn't done so vocally, even after it was proven i could not have done it.

But not the first time this has happened, think it would be massively unprofessional if it doesn't get acted upon considering it happens again and again

No idea what you're getting at with the bold bit, but please don't elaborate on it.

And you're surprised? Doubt anyone has every willingly provided an apology when asked for one. That's just strange behaviour all round.

it was after it was proven i could not have done what he was continually accusing me of and after the team leader finally said something and said to him about how he was in the wrong about it. The fact he didn't apologise is neither here nor there, it would have been common courtesy to say 'ok i was wrong'

I have gone down the route ideally i didn't want to take but put a formal greivance in now. Not going to help things but least it has to be officially investigated and all that stuff.

He isn't english, and isn't from an english community either so english is is second language. Granted he can speak it fine but occasionally you can notice it. Plus he has odd mannerisms which people have become accustomed to, so a lot of things people just generally put down to just him. But yeah, it is hard to describe what i mean, especially without coming across as offensive which i don't mean to be, just trying to describe it.

It is one of those difficult things for me because the guy isn't stupid, he knows exactly how he is talking to me and the fact that nobody even says a word or pull him up on it is just doing my head in. He even sent an email a few weeks back talking down to our assistant manager! And he didn't even get pulled in the office for it, that is what i mean by it is just accepted i think .

You get people like that from all walks of life. I'm sure it is not purely down to where he is from. Everyone has had to deal with obnoxious colleagues at some point or another. I would strongly advise not going down this route of complaint if you do have to report it!
