It is mate, amber is a warning the lights are now changing so you cannot proceed.
Hands up it was my fault, but it was partly because the person in front of me, who I caught up with at the lights, was going just under 20 meaning I wouldn't have been in the catch zone if he was going the speed limit.
Just checked, and it seems you can go through if you've already crossed the white stop line or it's too dangerous to stop. Sounds like you've been unlucky there. Bummer.
Yeah mate, like I said if I didn't slow down because of the old codger in front I wouldn't have been flashed.
Hoping I get offered the course like but depends if it's either 3 years since your last incident or 3 years since you completed the course..
Tbh I always believed passing through on amber was fine (though you run the risk of it changing to red and getting caught), now I know amber is bad too, I'll be changing my ways!
Traffic cameras are not set to go off unless you go through and the light is red. I've recently done a course and was told that by the two people running it. If you go through while the light is on amber you should not be flashed and if you are then there is something wrong with the camera. It's absolutely not illegal to go through on amber, it says that you must stop unless it is not safe to do so, but this cannot be known by a camera, hence why they only flash on red lights.
In other words, i'd ask for evidence.
