3 Cubic metres of wood delivered and stacked this morning - over a year's supply for me for a month an a half worth of my energy direct debit. Sniff it British gas.

I had a half cord of firewood delivered a couple weeks back. Inordinate amount of joy from looking out at that stack during the day and fires at night

On a lark, wore my black/yellow Everton scarf to our town's Christmas parade Saturday night. Our town is only about 40K but when walking downtown, waiting at a stoplight with the little one, a fellow honked, rolled down the window and yellow "Go Toffees, great win today against Forest" Then while standing and watching the parade a fellow near us came up and talked to me, said he's new in town and he's a blue. We got to chatting and have plans to watch a match together.

Think of the environment / the children you monster!

It is the most environmentally friendly way to heat a home. Government media currently has a campaign to make us worry about particulate pollution (wood smoke is now the 2nd biggest contributor we are told ... not because it's bad or there's a lot, but because we have reduced others so much), so that we throw money at their mates in the energy companies instead.. Add to that, if we don't burn (sustainable) wood and turn it Into CO2 it will simply rot and become CH4 which us far, far worse for the environment.

Tonight’s result capping off a boss couple of days as yesterday I got medical clearance to go back to work, 4 months after snapping my patella tendon in a fall while on holiday. I have to go in tomorrow to hand over my clearance letter and sort a phased shift pattern but I’m officially back in work on Monday
