Mirallas at the final whistle.

He is a class act who has not performed for Martinez. Think we need to look at the manager and his record with other players - Coleman, Stones, Barkley and probably at least three others - all gone backwards under his expert guidance.

Mirallas can be a boss player when he's up for it, and I though when we got on top against the Mancs he should have been brought on, but that doesn't mean he's still not a bellend.

Nah, Mirallas ruined himself by being a bellend.

Who's the bellend, Mirallas, or martinez?

Kevin Mirallas hasn't apologised to his team-mates over his penalty debacle...because he has nothing to apologise for.

That's the message from Everton manager Roberto Martinez, who continues to insist controversial Belgian forward Mirallas did nothing wrong in snatching spot kick duties from Leighton Baines.

...

Kevin has given us so much that it is very unfair to pick on him.

...

“It was not indiscipline. We are making a meal out of missing a penalty. I don’t like people arguing on the pitch. That doesn’t help the penalty taker. The issue that has been addressed is that, from now, there has to be a quick decision.

So, martinez doesn't blame Mirallas, but leaves the players to decide instead of making a decision hisself. Then he immediately drops Mirallas...all without blaming him? o_O

The spanish beaut sends out more mixed messages than brenda did.

As I say, mate - he was arguing with the crowd before martinez came IIRC. If anyone has/had an attitude problem, then it was disdain.
Just like "Are we more likely to win a match with Mirallas instead of Kone?", "were we more likely to win a game with Distin instead of Alcaraz?". The answer to both questions, in my opinion, is yes therefore for me Bobby put his personal feelings for players ahead of getting results and that is never acceptable. But when a manager says he doesn't care about results we shouldn't be surprised. It was like Collymore at Forest, Frank Clarke played him every game because he knew he had a better chance to win football matches with him than without him. This was when everyone at the club hated him, well apart from a few.

Both of them are bellends.

Or move on from the player and find one that fits what you want to do...ie Stones.
Yes but that takes time, money, patience, etc. Stylistic change takes a bit of time. You can't just come in and expect existing players to be fully capable of doing everything you want. A manager expecting certain players to play his idealistic brand of footy is a bit like communism. Great in theory. Flawed in practice. What would we do with a player like Shawcross? Try to turn him into Stones? I know which one I'd rather have had this season. A manager should look to get the best out of the players he has regardless of who they are.

Distin was great in 13/14 though...and the entire team immediately changed style. It was amazing how quickly everyone adapted.

Nah. Jags and Distin still played real no nonsense defense that year. I'd argue it's the stylistic transition he's tried to implement since that year that have caused some of our defensive headaches.
