Was the same craic with Distin. Consummate professional all his career, great signing for us when we sold Lescott, always gave 100% and had a great partnership with jags. Some blues ended up turning on him when Bobbys mind control techniques didnt work on him and had him in the u21s. Hindsight and all but he was obviously right. We had a great team spirit once and it's been completely eroded by your man.

Sylvan Distin was an excellent servant for the Club, and all the clubs he turned out for....the ultimate professional.

However, the experts on here preferred to label him Dustbin and thought he was rubbish.....but by all means turn that round to be the managers fault...who incidentally was applauded by the vast majority for showing him and Eto'o the door not so long ago.
Maybe they were both ace last season after all but were overshadowed by our perfect footballing God from Belgium.

Nah. Jags and Distin still played real no nonsense defense that year. I'd argue it's the stylistic transition he's tried to implement since that year that have caused some of our defensive headaches.

Something that Bobby has been unable or unwilling to realise is that when you are manager, in anything, it's all your fault even when it's not. Can't get a tune out of Kev?. His fault. But Kev has a bad attitude?. He's a match winner get him playing because that's Bobbys responsibilty to win football matches. If he doesn't that's his fault.

There was no flashy dribbling around at the back by either, nor passes to put us under pressure. Did they move the ball about? Yeah, but they took the best option available even if that wasn't a 12 yard pass. How many times have we been caught the past 2 seasons by forcing something or messing about at the back?
