Exactly 1 of the 4 teams that won 100+ games made it past the first round of the playoffs. The two worst playoff teams in the NL by record made it to the "championship" series. It is absolutely insane to have teams play every day for six months and then cancel it all out in less than a week on a bunch of coin flips.

That Astros/Mariners game last night was nuts. Both pitching staffs were dominant.

Momentum is everything, isn’t it?

You see it in loads of sports that rest isn’t necessarily good.

The Braves are prime example of it this season, neck and neck with the Mets all season and then magically have 5 days off and lose their stride.

The Dodgers sealed too soon, and have subsequently trudged through September, how’s you recapture your form?

Mets, lost the division, and with it were just deflated. We were terrible too.

Yankees - immense pressure throughout. Been awful since ASB.

Phillies, Padres went in after scrambling to make a place, full of confidence and kept their stride. Perfect storm for both of them.

Guardians effectively written off, absolutely no pressure.

The only side who’s met expectation so far are the Astros, who’ve been excellent.

I have a feeling that the new play off system will end up being unpopular, and ditched. But I think it’s great, even if it impacted the Mets

Being in the yard to see the Astros beat the Yankees twice in the ALCS is always a pleasure.

Since Verlander was pulled in G1 of the ALDS, the Astros staff has an ERA of 0.90 and 66 strikeouts in the last 50 innings pitched.

World Series tickets just went on sale. They are all sold out except for Standing Room Only tickets at $290 apiece.

Though work I got free WS tickets to the 2012 San Francisco Giants home games. That was some good fun. The energy was electric...even as a neutral.
