If the Guardians win tonight, this has got to be one of the strangest post seasons.
Momentum is everything, isn’t it?
You see it in loads of sports that rest isn’t necessarily good.
The Braves are prime example of it this season, neck and neck with the Mets all season and then magically have 5 days off and lose their stride.
The Dodgers sealed too soon, and have subsequently trudged through September, how’s you recapture your form?
Mets, lost the division, and with it were just deflated. We were terrible too.
Yankees - immense pressure throughout. Been awful since ASB.
Phillies, Padres went in after scrambling to make a place, full of confidence and kept their stride. Perfect storm for both of them.
Guardians effectively written off, absolutely no pressure.
The only side who’s met expectation so far are the Astros, who’ve been excellent.
I have a feeling that the new play off system will end up being unpopular, and ditched. But I think it’s great, even if it impacted the Mets
