More or less, yes. One more step to add in here... Five teams are eligible for the playoffs at the end of the 162-game season - each division winner (three divisions in each league), plus a wild-card entry. In each league there will be one-game wild-card playoff (in the NL it will be Cubs/Pirates) to bring the # of teams remaining down to four teams left in each league.

Then we have two divisional series (best-of-five) between these to reduce the number to two in each league.

Then we have the NLCS (see above - best-of-seven) - as the American League does at the same time. The winner of each league championship series will face each other in the best-of-seven World Series. The winner is the champion of MLB.

This is why we refer to "October baseball" as when the winners play it down to the World Series, AKA "the fall classic."

Ah ok. Still a way to go then!

Ok think I get it.

So Mets will play the team that won one of the other National Leagues then if they win that series they play in the World Series against an American League team?

Or have i gone too fast there?

Basically Ijjy, we're playing the Dodgers (unless something miraculous happens), in the NLDS after the season ends next week. It'll be a 5 game series, with the team with the best record (at the moment, it's the Mets, by 0.5 games) having the extra home game if necessary. As the Cardinals look set to win their division, they'll receive the 'benefit' of facing the Wildcard winner between Pirates and the Cubs, in reality, it'll be less of a benefit, but thats the magic of the Wildcard.

So the Mets will pick their 4-man rotation, and 25 man squad (DeGrom, Harvey, Synergaard and Matz to be starters, with Colon and Niese to the bullpen, I think they'll stick with Familia, Reed and Clippard as guarantees for the bullpen as well as a few more). Should they Progress to the NLCS they'll face Cards/Cubs/Pirates in a 7-game series, with Mets not having Home Field advantage, so they'll get 3 home games at Max).

Win that, and they'll head to the World Series, where we'll face the winners of the American Conference, which i suspect will be Blue Jays, where, due to the fact that American league won the ASG, they get home field advantage.

So Mets

NLDS -> NLCS -> World Series -> World Champions.

Blue Jays in the playoffs for the first time since 1993. Get in ;)

Rogers Centre looked a picture over the weekend:Untitled.webp

I definitely picked the wrong year to go for a long weekend of games in 2012 when we were out of contention and the stadium was about a quarter full! Having to make do with MLB tv this year...

How much is a ticket to a ball game? Just out of interest.

Depends which ball game you go to lid. And where you sit.

Last time I went to Rogers Centre had a couple of games sat right behind the dugout which cost about $70, two in the outfield which were about $25 and one in the 500 level behind the plate which was $14 (less than a tenner). Would probably just go for 500 level if I went again because the view was pretty awesome:
