Confirmed Signing Moise Kean

My understanding of Buy backs is there are a couple of options- the bad option like we did with Geri. Where there was a predetermined price and date and if that lapses its over and where Barca basically bought back from us and sold on for more or that Juve have first option if we decide to sell.

It seems very much like Juve are pushing for the first 1.

Ive no issue with it myself, lets be honest, if hes any good hes only ever on loan anyway.

Im just baffled that people think we hold all the cards in some shape of form, its like they dont realise how much we need a Striker.

So we should bend over and lube up for Juve, infact, if they want, we wont even need lube.

Only if you don't prepare correctly

If you know it's likely that Kean is off in 2 years, then you get a plan in place so that when he goes you can jump right in for a replacement

And if Kean is a rip roaring success, any other similarly talented young player is going to jump at the chance to come here so that they can elevate themselves in a similar manner

Rinse, repeat
Yeah I can see the logic in that but in this case Juventus are taking the pee with their stance as he can just walk for free in January if needs be.

Pogba hated Ferguson and Ferguson hated him. Who knows if it's the same with Kean at Juve, but there's more to it than simply first team football imo. He is only 19 too don't forget, can't really be demanding a starting role for one of the top teams in Europe.

Kean might not fancy working with Sarri

Who knows?

I still wouldn't rule out him going back to Juve if they tried to action the buy back

The problem is that you are back to square one in 2 years time without the striker you built your team around and their transfer fee won’t touch the sides of what you need.

I get that players will use us as a stepping stone and that’s fair enough as long as we get the actual financial reward when the time comes for them to go.

See where your going and agree to a point. But what if his goals get us into Europe ? Or win us a trophy ? Would be far easier attracting a better striker then though. For that reason I'm in.

Of course I would rather improve but at this time Kean is only potential and we are rolling the dice on him. We could also roll the dice on similar talent but with a guaranteed better upside for us.

I would rather we were buying a proven deadly striker but that doesn’t seem on now.
We could bring in a more established player instead, but Kean is not only potential. He's already good AND has tremendous potential.

Or bring in someone already established and sign Kean on a free when he walks. That would be amazing. Unlikely, but amazing.
