2019/20 Moise Kean

With Gylf (who I do rate)and schneids in the side along with struggling DCL (who I also like) we are sometimes 3 men down on the opposition. Davies and Cenk NEED to be more involved, everyone can see this.

I remember Moyes AND Roberto doing similar, refusing to change things when there are other options, it is so annoying.
I can't see it. I don't think Davies or Tosun are better than the players we're playing, and think that anyone who thinks they NEED to be more involved is falling into the common trap of thinking players who are out of the side are much better than they actually are, and working on the basis that they can't be any worse than the players we are playing, rather than there being any particular reasoning as to why they should play.

It's not like we're putting the same team out every week. We've started with 2 different strikers and 4 different midfield partnerships in our 5 games so far. If anything we need to make less changes and give people a chance to settle and get used to eachother.

They need to be involved because they offer something different, even for the last 30 minutes when we are losing. DCL is not working and Schneids is schneids. While Delph.Gomes and Gbamin have all been injured he has stuck with Schneids and not given Davies a look in and similarly, whilst Kean is getting up to speed, DCL has been frustrating and Cenk who bagged two for turkey not even on the bench.

I am not saying either are long term options but while we are totally devoid of ideas and goals then surely some change is better than the current situation.

He bagged two for Turkey against Moldova though. Moldova who have conceded 17 goals in their 6 qualifiers and are in a Nations League group with San Marino and Luxembourg. It's like scoring against a Conference side. Probably worth noting that he didn't score in 90 minutes, at home, against the mighty Andorra a couple of days before too.

Davies and Schneiderlin are different players, Silva has repeatedly said that he sees Davies as an attacking midfielder, so he isn't competing for a place with Schneiderlin (who is just an easy target by the way, he was better than Delph on Sunday and better than Gomes at Villa). Again, I think it's just a case of wanting him to change something rather than wanting him to change something because you think it would have a specific impact on the team. That's understandable, but i'm not going to criticise the manager for not panicking and picking players he doesn't rate just for the sake of it.

Anyway, I like the look of Kean and think he can be a real asset.

I knew you would come back with moldova! They were nice goals for a good international side, something that we are lacking.

I also knew you would say that Davies and Schneids are different players, the fact is, playing Delph means that he could have accommodated Davies but went again for Schneids who offers so little it is bizarre and every one can see it. Delph was not great but can act as a shield and let Davies play forward more.

The point is he sticks with systems that are not working. While we have injuries and new players to bring in, changing tack a little and giving the opposing manager something to think about might just work. Instead he sits with that Richarlison type sulk face and does nothing to change things up.

I also agree that Kean will be excellent when ready

Kean must be thinking ‘what the hell am I doing here?’ He left Italy because he didn’t get enough game time and now finds himself behind DCL. Couldn’t blame him if he just gives up and takes the money.

DCL could play for Brazil 12 times against Moldova and not score.

Doesn't matter how crap the opposition is, you still have to have the ability to finish. Not sure DCL has such ability.

Neither am I, but it doesn't change the point at hand. Tosun has one goal in his last eighteen starts for us, him scoring for Turkey against Moldova is as relevant as Kean scoring for Italy Under 21s. The idea that Tosun is some sort of sharpshooter is really really weird, he has a poor scoring record for us, an average one in a Turkish league where even Kone is still scoring, and an international record that's remarkably similar to Danny Welbeck's. He's alright, he's not awful, but can we please stop pretending he's a top class finisher because it's absolutely laughable.

Kean is better than him.

No one is saying that at all, we are all agreeing though (apart from you) that DCL is not the answer and so Cank needs a go. He is an international striker with a decent rate before getting here and we need goals, while we await Kean machine it would do no harm at all to change it alittle

Oh well if you all think it's the case it must be true, sorry for disagreeing. I was evidently being foolish because I know you're rarely wrong. On an entirely unrelated note, how are those criminal charges coming on against Liam Neeson?

Go Keano!

Agree but who else is there though? No real option in that area. People keep saying Bernard/Iwobi but neither play there.

Itis a bit of a mess

Why do we need anyone there? This 4-2-3-1 fascination makes me sick. Hardly any decent teams play with a number 10 anymore.
