2019/20 Moise Kean

I don't think the kid will be panicking as much as some think.

He even said his target would be 6/7 goals for the season so I'm pretty sure he had an idea coming to a new league would be tough and he wouldn't be an automatic starter.

I think we'll start to see the best of him once the whole team settles down into some kind of consistent form and I'm sure his first goal won't be too far off now.

The change of league will be the biggest reason for me, look how ‘proven’ the likes of Sandro, Klaasen and Tosun was in their respective leagues. All bombed out, now even if Kean is better than them he will still need the time to get used to the speed, physicality and even living in a new country etc.

I thought he would have had more minutes, but they are either making a concentrated effort to bring him slowly or he’s not showing enough in training.
I expected him to play in the Carabao cup like most fringe players do but I think the manager has decided it’s too important to even give him the minutes in that.
Combined, Klaassen, Sandro, and Tosun has less talent than Kean. Maybe they thunk it's best to bring him along slowly, but I think he needs to play.

Why do you think Silva would change a winning starting lineup?

The same reason he kept playing a losing side with a system that didn’t suit the players and playing a zonal marking system that has us conceding at nearly every set piece.... because he has no clue what he’s doing

Which brings me back to my original, question, why?

Why, when we’re clearly struggling up top, is management not giving him the opportunities he desperately needs? The opportunities he literally came here for over all of the other offers he had from Europes eite.

The best young players, aged 19 and under, across Europe are getting regular game time. Kean is in that bracket yet doesn’t get the minutes.

Just puzzling, unless Silva is seeing something in training that we’re not, which ultimately would (as you said) make him not ready to be put in.

I'm glad he has been kept away from first team starts, he would have been slaughtered (by us) with the start we have had...
I'm sure there is talent and goals, but not to the extent it would have changed results. How Kean comes in changes our defending and midfield performances. I don't see it. He has been spared the cutting negativity, which can only be good for him, and us...

I think the way we played on Saturday would suit Kean. He's a similar sort of CF to Richarlison.

id rather just play richarlison there tbh

it was a mad signing if truth be told, we really needed someone to come in and hit the ground running not another player (albeit more likely to succeed at a high level than DCL)

6/7 goals????

He was one of the hottest prospects in football, operating at 1 in 2 at club and country level mainly as a sub.
We paid big money for him and wanted him to slot in as on paper he was our best striker by a country mile given his CV.

Clearly something wrong if he can't even start a game given the start we have had. Wouldn't be surprised if he is loaned out

you state that like he was banging 1 in 2 in over a full season. He scored 6 in 13. 13 games for Juventus.

He's got heaps of potential but young and inexperienced, and if the rest of our fans think like you, he'd be slaughtered a four or five games of not scoring.

Mad signing ?

it’s exactly the type of player he said he was going for. Young, promising, high fee and low wage.

it’s a framework and model of what was brought here to do.

now we don’t know exactly what 1st year expectations were set for him year one.

I for one hope we get more players that meet brands model and framework.

it just seems people are stuck in two different camps.

one camp for the here and now, immediate gratification and success

the other camp is looking to rebuild and change the model moving forward.

just my opinion but quick fixes seem to limit growth to a certain extent.

High wages
No sell on
Performance degeneration

Again just an opinion.

Bottom line
I’m a fan of Kean and this sort of player
