Again 14 and 8 goals the last two seasons, 38 goals total in 4 and a quarter seasons, Suarez wound up with 69 in 3 1/2, that is what a regular scorer does

Hell a 30-something Zlatan bagged 17 in his one full season in this league having never played in it previously

But we aint signing a Suarez or Zlatan mate.

So the question is do we either sign a Wilson or keep chugging along with DCL one week, tosun the next, Rich the one after etc..

The only way we can attract the cream of the crop is with European football and if that means signing a bridge gap in a Wilson/Ings type no nonsense 12-15 goal a season proven prem striker then that for me is worth it than keep spending what £27 million on Tosun and £26 million on Kean (and about £150k a week in wages between them I bet).

Think we've tried that for the past 3 seasons mate hows that worked out?

I just find it hilarious how some laugh at players like wilson when we've had absolute jokers play up top for us the past 3 seasons and continue taking £25-30 million hits on unproven punts.

We have one of the worst strikeforces in the league and have no europe to attract player never mind CL quality yet some on here think we are going to be signing Mbappe

I would rather spend money and improve our striking position even if its only just a marginal increase as fine margins could be the difference between european football or not.

You said it doesn’t happen. That’s an example of it happening. Didn’t read your post - tldr.

Answer, we don't succumb to paying over the odds for players worth a half to a third of their clubs value and we use that fee to buy a good to great player or 3 for a more reasonable cost. We had it right in cost, poor in execution in Sandro

I feel a lot of people have written him off or think management has deliberately marginalised him. Both quite strange. He hasnt shown much yet on the pitch, so let's see how he responds the next time he is in the team.

Again we've tried that for 3 years and have clogged up the wage bill in the process.

We just aint very good at buying unknown 20 goal a season strikers & dont have CL football to attract known ones.

There is a reason Koeman went all out for an aging Giroud and that was because he was realistically the best out there we could have attracted (with European football I might add).

You offer me one realistic signing in January alongside a box to box midfielder and its a proven prem goalscorer 10/10 - not some 19 year old from abroad or some galoot from a 3rd rate league like Turkey or Russia.

There’s hundreds of realistic signings we could make, throwing the best part of £150m on Zaha and Wilson would be huge wastes of money for the output from both

Still a lot of football to play this season, I don't understand why we expected him to be an instant impact anyway, that's not always the way.

From what I've seen of him so far he looks disconnected from the rest of the side.
