Doucoure looked leggy the other night when he came on...thought Chalobah looked the better bet tbh he strolled around Goodison like he owned it although he wasn't pressed.

Yeah im not a fan of Doucoure but I think Silva/Brands want him.

If Callum Wilson in an average striker you're going to be very disappointed with our striker barring a Harry Kane coming out the academy.

Niasse, Sandro, DCL, Tosun & now Kean.

£75 million spent and about 400k a week in wages.

Could have signed Wilson for £40 million last season, on 75k a week and have a striker scoring more in the league than all those combined.

All well and good slagging suggestions but I dont see you bringing any positive contribution to the discussion other than slating a player who scores goals which is kinda what we need.

In terms of total goals in all competitions for the last 2 1/4 seasons, Wilson has only scored 6 more than DCL has in the same timeframe (29-23)

Going back 5 seasons the lad has overcome 2 serious knee injuries which takes time - im going back the last 2 and he scores around 15 a season - basically the level of striker we should be going for.

I would love to hear all these 20 goal+ a season strikers who we should be signing.

Its easy to scoff at names but harder to actually list who is better & who we can attract without European football (thanks to our oaf of a manager).

We have morphed into the Coventry City of the 21st century.....hanging around the top flight for decades without causuing a ripple or giving their fans owt to be excited about save the odd cup run every five or six years.

And I am quite sure Calum Wilson would be a step up from what we have now.

Why I say it is “bizarre” is the thoughts of “breaking the bank” to take such a player from Bournemouth, a pretty run of the mill striker IMO

The problem is we need to take a step back before we can take 2 steps forward.

If we sign someone like Wilson to get us into the top 7/ Europe we have the chance to use European football to attract someone of a higher calibre.

Outside of some Rooney coming out the academy I just cant see us signing a top CF from outside the league.

At some point we have to bite the bullet and bring in someone doing the business already in the league regardless of if we have to overpay.
