Thats the worry should we go down the Moyes/Big Dunc route - quality strikers like Lukaku & potentially Kean slated because they dont run the channels like garbage like Strac, Bent & DCL.

hard work only takes you so far - you need the sprinkle of quality alongside it if we are to ever do anything than make up the numbers in this league.

Cristiano Ronaldo - Talent without working hard is nothing.

And those players are world class and at CL clubs not mid table Everton.

Clubs like us have either hard working but limited players or talented but inconsistent.

Having a few of both and a manager with sound tactics is our best bet - not 11 yard dogs who run around and do nothing else or 11 inconsistent players who turn up now and again.

Yeah mate, your word on success supersedes that of undoubtably one of the top 3 players of this generation.

Or how about a Quote by Kevin Durant: “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work...”

there are a huge number of quotes from sports stars & icons which allude to the same thing - hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.

he didn’t work hard. He needs to learn to work hard. It’s pretty straight forwards.

As I said - players who are hard working every week AND top quality are at CL clubs.

Clubs like Everton either have hard working limited players like DCL or talented but inconsistent/lazy players like Rom.

A Lukaku finisher with the gameness of DCL would be playing for Real Madrid not Everton.

Problem is managers like Dunc/Moyes like 11 yard dogs and players like Kean or Rom are slated despite the obvious quality they possess. Likewise managers like Silva focused more on the talent and neglected any hard work/fight in the team.

A club like ours needs a balance of hard work but those 2-3 players who have the sprinkle of quality to win us games if we are to ever do more than just "avoiding relegation".

So, Moyes’ yard dogs... Arteta and Peinaar.

no talent. you stand by this? Or do you think they didn’t work hard.

Whatever his faults, he’s a 19 year old kid.

Everyone saw Brands say to him mum ‘we’ll look after your son’.

Makes us look pretty stupid... if that’s how we look after someone then I’d hate to see what we did to young kids we didn’t look after.
As a parent I'd be glad somebody else was prepared to help my child to achieve the maximum possible from his/her career and the exceptional talent they are blessed with. That includes a well aimed kick up the arse if it's required, as well as praise where due. I'd not think twice about doing it in similar circumstances.

Remember when Fabinho signed for Liverpool and went missing for about 3 months? Not even in a squad. Klopp obviously done that as he was nowhere near fit enough or up to the pace abd intensity of Liverpools style or the PL

Lampard dropped Pulisic for quite a weeks and was being questioned for it, yet he looks up to speed now.

Pepe is really struggling at Arsenal and looks nowhere near a £80mill rated player

All 3 above were regulars and a lot more experienced. Kean is still a teenager who is not used to playing 90 mins in a slower league, let alone 90 mins in the fastest most intense league in the world - it will take time. Plus its one thing coming into a game where your the best team by a mile and your already winning to coming into a struggling team who are chasing a goal and the opposition has 10 men behind the ball.

We know nothing about his attitude, the whole late thing doesnt speak to a character as I bet we have all been late for work a couple of times too. But it is obvious that he's struggling with the fitness a bit - not so much actual fitness, but the intensity of the matches.

Hopefully Dunc has a quiet word with him and he reacts in the best way.
