Can we get off each other’s back. It’s a everton forum not a forum for personal vendettas. We can’t always agree

I dont think thats how it works mate.

Clearly talent there but we aint in the position to do what we did with DCL and babysit him in the starting 11 for 2 seasons waiting for him to start contributing up top.

If we can get him a loan deal to a bottom half / championship club who will agree to play him week in week out its a no brainer for me.

Youngest player to score in the champions league, youngest player to score for Italy, scored 5 in 5 in serie A and international football last season... aye, bottom of the championship seems about right.

Yes he's 19 - so my question is will 1 goal turn him into a top striker (which we need to realistically compete for europe)

If the answer is no then those laughing at the prospect of sending the lad out on loan to continue his development are fools.

We are not a nursery we are a football club who should be competing.

You dont get a world class manager in and tell him to babysit 3-4 young players who are promising but are clearly not ready.

What if that manager rates one of those kids to the extent he tried to sign him?

Shevchenko was one of the best strikers in the world yet struggled to adapt to the English game and he wasnt the only one.

Again its a case of looking at his name/hype rather than his actual contribution up top at present which isnt alot.

Its clear there is talent there but he needs time to get adjusted which isnt what we can afford to give when we have yet another young striker in DCL who is also still not the finished article.

Its one or the other as we need a regular goal scorer in the side if we want to do anything more than just make up the numbers every season - why appoint a world class manager if thats our aim?

Tell you what, I'm gonna trust Carlo Ancelotti's judgement on him. He thinks hes boss, good enough for me.

Facts are at present DCL & Kean up top = few goals.

If we had Lukaku up top with Kean its sound as he can develop whilst Rom bags every week. Arsenal can play Martinelli as they have Aubameyang & Lacazette to score the goals if needed.

If Ancelotti is intending to keep DCL as a constant first choice then its either the bench for Kean or a loan move where he's playing week in week out and getting to grips with the english game.

Otherwise forget anything else but 8th-12th every season and no Europe/ trophies as the sides above us even Leicester now have too much firepower whereas we rely massively on Richarlison who is a CF one week then a winger the next.

Haven't I just watched DCL bag 10 in half a season?

Christ, we get beat by the odd goal for the first time in ages against one of the best sides in Europe, we're one of the form sides in the league and everybody's heads are dropping off again.

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion. I guess we'll see how it plays out. Although my guess would be Ancelotti isn't farming out a striker he wanted 6 months ago to Bristol City.

Again you're arguing that a loan move = punishment when it isnt.

The loan market is intended to help young players develop and have time to play regulary.

Look at the difference the loan move to villa done for Tammy Abraham when he was clearly not upto scratch at Swansea in the Prem compared to this one. Harry Kane had a loan move to the championship, Ross Barkley did.

The sooner our fanbase gets out of this mentality of stockpiling players it will be for the better as a successful club has many young starlets out on loan learning their trades - look at City, Barca, Bayern, Chelsea etc.

My point is his record shows he is already pretty far along on the old football city & guilds.

If you're taking a player to a new country and out of his mother's house for the first time, I would argue that stability is the most important thing to get the best out of them. Show them they're wanted, work with them in training and outside to get them integrated to the team, club and environment.

Farming them out to another new environment where you have 0 control over their continued development would not be my approach. Your mileage may differ.

The attempt he had was unlucky. It was a difficult thing to try and do and didn't come off but it was there for a 1st time effort. He couldn't try and control it or he would have been closed down immediately and more than likely lost it or ball would have been played back out of the box. The only way to make it an opportunity was to hit it first time. Poor execution but difficult nonetheless. Made the right choice in attempt.
