Think the lad needs time in a proper set up, we haven't had that for a long time.

Carlos' backroom fitness/training staff and model sounds like the business, but this will not bear fruit for a while.
At the moment Kean looks too slow for that position. When he quickens up he'll get more confidence, then we'll probably see the goals start to come.

HIS INTERVIEW IN ENGLISH

Moise Kean says he will “learn so much” from new Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti – and is aiming to show why the Blues moved to bring him to Goodison Park last summer.

Striker Kean has featured in all three games of Ancelotti’s embryonic reign, his third Premier League start at Newcastle United on Saturday sandwiched by outings from the bench against Burnley and Manchester City.

Everton were beaten 2-1 at City on New Year’s Day after both Ancelotti’s first two games in charge ended in victory.

Ancelotti was working in Serie A with Napoli last season and watched former Juventus player and three-cap Italy international Kean at close quarters.

Equally, Kean knows all about compatriot Ancelotti’s pedigree as a three-times Champions League winning boss who has refined the games of a host of world stars.

“He is a very, very good coach,” Kean told evertontv.

“I can learn so much with him.

“We have played well [under Ancelotti], played good football and enjoyed being with the ball.

[He is asking me] just to enjoy what I am doing and work hard and be professional.

“For him that is very important.

“We speak about the team and where I can play.

“Getting the start [against Newcastle] was good.

“I am going to be ready for all the matches to show the coach why I am here.”

Kean appeared as a substitute in the three matches immediately preceding Ancelotti’s arrival.

He lasted only 18 minutes before being replaced in a 1-1 draw at Manchester United but three days later came on for the second half to help Everton recover a two-goal deficit in their Carabao Cup quarter-final tie with Leicester City.

Kean played the closing 10 minutes of the 0-0 Goodison draw with Arsenal – caretaker manager Duncan Ferguson’s final match in charge – and was introduced three minutes before Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s decisive strike against Burnley on Boxing Day.

After starting the 2-1 win at Newcastle, he stoked an Everton revival against City.

Kean had a hand in the goal for Richarlison which cut the hosts’ two-goal advantage in half and was narrowly off target with an acrobatic volleyed effort as Everton, ultimately fruitlessly, pursed an equaliser.

Ancelotti next takes his side to Liverpool for an FA Cup third round tie on Sunday.

“We played well against a good team [City] and tried to do our best,” added Kean, who won Serie A with Juventus last term and switched to Everton ahead of this campaign.

“Manchester City played well and we take more experience from playing against a team like this.

“Day by day and match by match, we grow.

“It will be a good match at Liverpool.

“We are excited about the game and it is always good to play a derby.

“Now we are thinking about Liverpool and we’ll be ready for this match.

“We are all together and will always try to do our best.

“I have kept my head up and worked hard.

“When I come onto the pitch I try to do my best and be ready. Always.”

Kean needs to work out how he fits in to the team and Ancelotti needs to work out how to get the very best out of him.

With the like of Richarlison, DCL and potentially a new signing to play alongside him, he's never going to play every game but if Carlo sees something in him then he'll be given match time. Hopefully once he gets a goal he'll get some confidence and push on and form the kind of partnership with DCL that could last for years.

I'm excited by his potential, He's not put in a stellar performance yet but from the little glimpses I like what I've seen, Very rapid and good ball control in tight spaces, Think talk of loaning him out is nonsense.
Tbh I think his ball control is letting him down. He seems quick and very strong and should only get stronger. Hopefully Ancellotti and his team will make his ball control better as the ball is always running away from him. Have high hopes of this lad though

Don’t think his overall ball control is terrible. I did notice he struggle to bring the ball under control when back to goal but excellent dribbling close control when running at players or facing goal.

I suspect his upbringing at Juventus does not require him to play back to goal too often.

It may be that he is still getting used to the pace of the premier. He has all the attributes so hopefully will start to show them soon
