Genuine injury guys.
Likely to be back for Blurnemouth
Kean going nowere

On a side note, when Kean is back in the squad at the weekend i hope he keeps Simms on there also instead of 2 goalkeepers.

It will look a positive for the club if during the restart Gordon, Branthwaite & next Simms have got somesort of first team exposure. It shows others in the talented group of u18s there is a pathway

Not all strikers can handle the PL either. We've seen world class players like Shevchenko and Falcao not do so well. Think he could do with a loan myself.

...I really don’t see the point in loaning him. The assumption is that he goes somewhere, gets game time and does well but his new Manager will also need to trust him and he could go backwards.

We are probably in a position where we can recoup our monies, but Ancelotti seems to see something in the lad. Time will tell.

I know they’re all different but there have been cases of a loan really benefiting young strikers. Look at Lukaku for instance. He wasn’t going to get a chance at Chelsea due to competition, trust, etc. Went off to West Brom and then here and became a top player. There’s no substitute for experience and if he’s going to be 3rd choice here I’d rather he go out and play regularly. We can bring in a veteran on a one year deal to cover the gap if needed. Or just keep Tosun on if we don’t get a decent offer.

Who he goes to would be critical.

I don't think we'd get as much selling him this Summer as next.

...absolutely, a loan could work but Chelsea were ‘striker-rich’ when Lukaku went on loan. Lukaku wasn’t struggling, he just had no chance of getting a game.

We need a 3rd striker option next season. If it’s not Kean, I think we might as well cash in and buy a player we can use.

the thought of tosun needing to be called upon scares the death out of me

Be nice to see how he comes into a team more settled on the game plans and managers systems.

Very much the case with most young players, they need to be judged playing in a team playing well, with performing seniors.

Thats what he had at Juve.

Having Tosun as one injury from playing an entire season is enough to give me nightmares.

The Lukaku example doesn't really work. He didn't really get better, and it didn't lead to him going back to Chelsea a more complete player. He wasn't getting in their team so they loaned him out, then they sold him when he came back because he still wasn't getting in their team. It's pretty much the exact opposite of what we'd want to happen with Kean.
