2019/20 Moise Kean

Be nice to see how he comes into a team more settled on the game plans and managers systems.

Very much the case with most young players, they need to be judged playing in a team playing well, with performing seniors.

Thats what he had at Juve.

The other thing as well is he can only be properly judged when he starts in a run of games instead of coming off the bench here and there.

Having Tosun as one injury from playing an entire season is enough to give me nightmares.

The Lukaku example doesn't really work. He didn't really get better, and it didn't lead to him going back to Chelsea a more complete player. He wasn't getting in their team so they loaned him out, then they sold him when he came back because he still wasn't getting in their team. It's pretty much the exact opposite of what we'd want to happen with Kean.
You really don’t think Lukaku improved on loan? Interesting take. And regardless the situations are more similar than you say. If we loan kean, it’s literally because he’s not going to get in our team. If he’s going to play, of course keep him around.

The manager literally says on saturday hes here next season and you lot are still saying he's on his way out.

Mad the lot of you.
Don’t let the truth get in the way mate.We don’t want any of that round here.We have a very Trumpean outlook that anything inconvenient is fake news.

Of course were sending a 30m striker on loan and buying a replacement.

I think lukaku was just that good tbh, think the difference between West Brom and here was he was playing with better players, but he was always a great goalscorer from his first season with anderlecht. He was just never given s chance at Chelsea really.

They said when they signed him they would bed him in slowly as it will take time to adapt particularly considering his age. This is exactly what's happening. Yet people still find reasons to have a go at the boy. Madness

Well I can't claim to have studied videos of him before and after his West Brom loan to be honest, but my understanding of the situation was that Lukaku was a player who would have been capable of scoring 15 goals in the PL for West Brom a season earlier, but he wasn't playing for them, he was playing for Chelsea. He couldn't get games at Chelsea because they were competing for titles and Champions Leagues, and had better players blocking his way. The loan was just an opportunity to show what he was capable of doing. He had another loan the season after, and Chelsea decided that despite scoring over 30 league goals on loan, he still wasn't good enough for them.

Kean is a totally different situation. Do you think he would score 20 goals if we loaned him to another PL team? If the answer is yes then it would be ridiculous to loan him. If the answer is no then Lukaku isn't a good comparison. Not being able to break into the side that's just won the Champions League is one thing, not being able to break into a side which is hoping to cling on to 11th place in the league, ahead of a striker who cost £1.5m and hasn't scored for 9 games, is another. I'm surprised that needs spelling out to be honest with you.

See I don't think they gave that impression at all. Quite the opposite in fact, the club spun it as a massive coup, and talked about how a striker had been the priority. There were reports both that we'd tried to sign him on loan in the January, and that there was going to be a buy back clause included in the deal, neither of which would support the idea that we expected him to have no impact in his first 12 months. If the club had talked about how we were going to bed him in slowly then I think people would see things very differently. I've said before, I have loads of patience with him, I'm certainly not suggesting he won't go on to have a brilliant career either here or elsewhere, but I have no doubt whatsoever that the club expected much more from him this season.

You may be right mate. I'm sure I remember reading that he would be used as a sub at home games and unlikely to play much away in the first few months. Not sure where I read it. I would say I've been underwhelmed by what I've seen but I definitely think he has something. I'm happy to be patient especially considering the circumstances of this season

People are deluding themselves by believing that everything is going to plan with Kean.

The alarm bells were ringing as soon as a £27m signing didn't walk straight into the team ahead of Tosun and Calvert-Lewin. I initially had it down as some sort of protest by Silva, but at this point I'll be truly shocked if he isn't gone before next season.

I was hoping to see him today. Time to show us if he has made any breakthroughs.

Yeah I'd love him to bag a couple today, but what I really want to see is better hold up play, more awareness of his team mates, picking his head up more and to cut out the silly fouls. He has the tools, speed, strength must start showing a bit more composure for me.
