2020/21 Moise Kean

Ive always said he was a finisher, not a target man. We seemed to be trying to mould him into something more 'complete' or were just using him the wrong way.

20 years old, italian internarional wonderkid...on loan to one of the richest teams in the world. Also rumoured to be wanted back by Juve and AC Milan hovering in the background.

You have to be talking £60mil+ which would pay for Godfrey, Allan, Doucoure fees (bearing in mind Keans £22mil up front is accounted for).

Id say that would be a pretty good deal really.

Or he comes back and we use him properly.

...based on watching him for us, I’m not even sure he’s a good finisher. He was ineffective for us, you would expect him to have basic back-to-goal technique and join-in play but I’m not sure he offered much to the team effort.

He’s certainly no Lineker.

He's scoring a lot of goals in France though isn't he, and in the champions league.

The prevailing issue for him whilst playing for us was that the play would break down before he could get into a shooting position, rather than missing a host of chances and being generally a poor finisher. If you watch him for PSG, they relieve him of any duties to interact in the build-up play, and so all he has to do is focus on timings of runs and getting on the wrong side of defenders. Ironically, I'd say Lineker would be a pretty decent comparison stylistically given Kean's natural instinct for goal, coupled with his lack of ability (at present) to play with his back to goal, and act as a pivot to relieve pressure and move the team up the field.

...Linekers goals invariably finish inside the post (just like Ian Rush, Jimmy Greaves et al). He was bright as a button in the box, stealing in front of his markers to get on the end of crosses be it on the ground or in the air. When Lineker had a hint of a chance you were confident he’d score, that was never the case with Kean.

I guarantee CBs were scared stiff playing against Lineker. I guarantee CBs don’t lose sleep at the prospect of facing Kean. The one thing they have in common is wearing football kits.

I'm hoping we manage to sell him in the summer. I think we should be looking to regain at least 20 million, but I hope we don't outprice him of a move by deluding ourselves into demands of 25 - 30 million +.

I think he's crap in the main. Like a worse version of Anichebe without the goals.

Quite embarrassing to see the excuses being made here about Moose. Flat track bully and the French league is poor. He has also scored 2 in 5 in the CL and 10 goals in total across both teams.
Fact is Carlo got it badly wrong and he was criminally under used and we were left with the totally useless Tosun as an alternative to Dom
I'm as ready as anyone to jump on our club for wasting young players but I'm genuinely not sure how we are supposed to get him the minutes he wants when we aren't in Europe and DCL is bang in form. Even Dom's stretch of not scoring in the restart only reached the point where you'd think about giving Kean a go with 2 or 3 games left. And we were playing so horrendously at that point that I doubt Kean would have got much joy out of it anyway.

Not keeping up with his play this season?

Why would we sell him if we didn't? That's pretty illogical from Everton's standpoint.

Why did we sell Davy Klassen do for £13m? Didn’t fit our mould, recoup our losses. Just some of the figures... £60m for him, after a pandemic is mental for me.

If we break even it’s a success for me. I’m not saying he won’t have a good career but he isn’t working out here.

Davy Klaassen didn't go on loan and score goals regularly before his 21st birthday.
