Fortunately Brands seems to know that young London raised lads seem to to prefer playing in London. Zaha is a prime example, he literally went to United and completely flopped. Lookman was homesick the moment he got here. No one apart from Palace was interested in Eze. It’s taken Iwobi about 18 months just to get back to half the level he was at Arsenal. Most of these lads coming up through the academies in London now dream of playing for Spurs or Arsenal but in reality most will end up at Palace and Fulham and will stay there.

It might be an unpopular opinion but I think Lookman is better than Eze. Regardless though neither would turn it on for Everton. They don’t want to leave London to come and play up here. Lookman has found a perfect club for him to flourish at, same with Eze. Some players are just suited to certain teams.

Are people saying they’d rather have Eze who might be good or even very good one day over Zaha who is genuine quality and has been winning matches on his own for Palace for years?

Of course, but say if he didn't score 10 goals this season do you think top teams would be in for him like the teams we all propped him up for like Barca etc? I think he has potential to be world class but this season isn't clicking at all for him, He's not been rubbish but by the Richarlison standards we know it's not up to level.

I am seeing a lot of how great Eze is. it's what 2 goals and 2 assists in 15 games so far. It's ok, but nothing spectacular.

There is zero sell on value in Zaha. Eze isn't flavour of the month he is just being used as an example of young players Everton always fail to scout.

Man United are shelling out mega wages on a 35+ Cavani but they’re now top of the league...
I couldn’t give a toss about sell on value if we signed Zaha for roughly 40mil and got in the top 4, maybe even won a cup!

How many good games has James had?
We have spent 500 million and not got a cup or top 4. All clubs need to balance there books surely???
