I don't think too much was expected; he was just expected to actually try when he got chances.

Only started 6 games for us. Agree he his yet to provide any evidence that he will cut it in this league but don’t think the sample size has been big enough to write him off.
Yeah but you have to earn minutes in this league. He simply didn't. Every time he came on he swung wildly between brief glimpses of looking like he had something, and long stretches of moping around doing nothing.
Can't have passengers in the Premier League, and he was the definition of one.
When he arrived, all I expected was him to put in a shift and adjust to the league over 12-18 months, and he failed in a spectacular way to do either of those things.
I can't see a route back for him here, but if we can't sell then we have no choice but to try - it's a hard no to a further loan as far as I'm concerned.

If we can get a £10 million loan fee I suppose that's acceptable. It doesn't look like anyone wants to buy him.

a very silly point, because its not like there are going to be any buyers in january or summer.
We have had plenty of players out on loan for multiple years previously, not sure why we are making an example of him.

If he comes back with the same sulky face he had in the games immediately before his loan last season then it could get nasty.
Carlo tolerated his sulkiness but I am not sure Benitez will and I can only imagine the report from Duncan will be less than glowing.
Kean did not start the important CL games and PSG have enough already to win their domestic competitions most seasons . A loan makes more sense for them than paying lots of money to solve our problem.
