If no one pays the money then he stays here, good for the club for making the point. This is a player that one of the biggest and richest clubs in world football rates and want in their squad and we are a team who has one good striker, I’d give him another chance under a new manager.
A) they don’t really rate him otherwise they’d pay.

B) he’s done nothing but be disruptive with us. Honestly it was like playing with 10 at times with him on the pitch.

c) also assume this means we are now out of the market for an actual striker as opposed to bringing back a fraud from loan

We've still got Kean and Tosun on our books. If Benitez plays 1 up front, 3 strikers is plenty.

They’re just trying to strong arm us and save money for other purchases because they think they can. If they didn’t rate him why would they try and have him for another year, that makes no sense at all!

As for him being disruptive, I’ve not seen that to be honest. He had a sulk when he got subbed on and off by Ferguson and I don’t particularly blame him, that was awful man management.

I saw enough in glimpses that he has quality, he was just young, raw and we’ve been pretty rubbish. If you haven’t seen it, that’s fine, but I don’t see why you don’t think we can get goals out of a young kid who’s scored plenty in Serie A and Ligue 1.

Because unlike us, they have a plan A, followed by a Plan B.

Whose paying 40m?
Your own comment is pretty bizarre.
He has been brought back because he is our player and he is not being loaned again. £40m is the reported fee we are seeking, that is not an insignificant sum and will no doubt form a significant part of our transfer budget.
Would you have left him in Paris?

No one is paying 40m you clown - you can’t just put random valuations on players and expect them to be met.

he will not play much this season - a few games here and there at best if DCL stays injury free - he will be worth very little with 2 years left on his contract at the end of the season.

You criticised the club for bringing him back because we don’t want to loan him, but haven’t answered the question what would you do?

PSG would obviously like to keep him but are balking at the fee. I’m not surprised. He may well have cost us a lot of money but we were hosed. PSG rightly take the view that they are not going to get EFC off the hook by effectively reimbursing them for a mistake.

Don't think that's why psg won't pay for him and prefer the loan.

I think they want to strengthen and spend their money on other areas ( like the RB that's just cost them 60m ) they don't NEED Kean as they have icardi mbappe neymar etc but he fit in well and played when needed last year, they aren't going to spend a lot of their budget on that type of player.
