This just makes me think of the Onyekuru fiasco where the team intentionally kept him out of games so that he couldn’t make the national team and get his work permit for England. Maybe it wasn’t that sinister but I’m glad we didn’t loan him back to that club.
I hope PSG caves as I’d like to see Kean get his move (I think he’s a good kid), but not at the cost of our reputation. Bill might have been a pushover- Mosh is a businessman. He needs to act like it.

How does denying yourself income from a loan fee and saving wage costs show your chops as a businessman? PSG won’t see it as loan him or buy him. They’ll loan him or loan someone else.
….the key issue to me is that EFC appears to be the last place he wants to be & in that situation a deal is agreed.

Why does he need to rotate with DCL?
I think the way it's shaping up Kean will be Right wing and Richarlison will be left wing. DCL up top on his own with a new false 9 behind him to replace James.

….did you see the times Kean played on the right? I’d dread being the full back behind him. Ancelotti stopped trying him there, he couldn’t trust him & preferred Gordon.

Kean was given a few mins randomly and when he played (very) well he was dropped for weeks on end instead of having a run in the side.
Also, remember who we had in midfield when he played? The very same donkeys we all still want to sell...
In a similar way to the Richarlison argument, while different players they would both thrive with more quality around them. Kean had that at Juventus and PSG and scored goals....Richarlison has that for Brazil and his stats are around the best in the team every game.
We sign a high potential young player and dont give him a run of games...its pointless.

Blame his teammates, blame the system, blame the manager, blame his age, blame his home sickness.
There is one very basic, fundamental issue I have with him; he’s a footballer on a football pitch who is given possession of the football and invariably fails to do anything with it. That is nothing to do with tactics, age, teammates etc. I was realistic but I wanted a ‘that’ll do me’ moment but there’s still not an instance that sits in my memory that made me think we have a player here.
He was ok in one game (Newcastle?), but that was in comparison to what we’ve seen before. Even if he didn’t want to be here, I’d expect one wow moment from a young Italian international who we expected much of.
It takes a great leap of faith to think he could come back here and be an effective member of the team.

Benitez should have a chat and bring him back for a year, we need a striker so he might as well be the one. All could turn out well. If he had the time to establish himself like DCL did he could be a very good player, Kean hardly played for us.
….it wasn’t that he ‘wasn’t given game time’, it was more that he didn’t ‘earn game time’.
