Im not saying its all been wasted. But coming from where we were, living on a budget every year, to finally getting money and ending up with this squad is a bit sickening..

This. European clubs buying both inside & outside of Europe generally get far better financial deals than the British clubs do.

For clubs like Bayern buying from within their own country, and even certain surrounding countries, they would never be held to randsom in a deal.

I genuinely don't get why teams don't just shop abroad for talent. Yes we tried it with 25m Klaassen and it didn't pay off immediately and we don't know if he'll settle in the future, but we also got done big style by paying 25m for Keane, 45m for Sigurdsson was far too much, 27m Bolasie was about 26m too much.

30m Euro gets you an absolute top quality player from abroad. Spurs just got Lucas Moura for 25m!
