More spent than Bayern?

Go on mate you can say it has been wasted, because frankly it has. If only moyes had had a fraction of these riches 2006-2009 when we were regularly finishing 5th and 6th! It is so Everton, that we have waited a lifetime to have some serious clout in the transfer market and have a poorer team now thanks to the efforts of Walsh and co.
Don't think it would have made much difference with Moyes in charge, in fact even when he was at United he stuggled to get players to join. It's not as straightforward as just having the money will mean top quality will arrive, there needs to be a pull whether that's the status of the club itself, the manager, the location etc.

Over 320 million has been spent but none of that has been on a player coveted by top sides. It's the same 6th/7th league position level players that have been brought in. Gylfi (not good enough for Spurs), Schneiderlin (not good enough for United), Keane, Bolasie, Pickford and Williams (players used to relegation dog fights). Tosun and Klaasen both played in a much lower level competition so they were always a punt. The only player with any pedigree brought in was Rooney..and only because he is slightly over the hill and he supported the club as a kid.

Spent more than Bayern maybe, but their pull means they can get Lewandowski on a free. They are a European giant, managed by top coaches, regular participants in the CL, play in a state of the art stadium. Man City have to pay over and above the normal wages to bring players in..even with all that Arab money they struggled to bring in quality when Hughes was in charge. Robinho turned up there and had no idea who he signed for.
