Best player in his position in the league 18 months ago. United obviously thought so to shell out the money they did. He's in good company in that other top players didn't settle at United di Maria, Veron but nevertheless they still left to perform well at other clubs, why would schneiderlin be different? He obviously hasn't settled at United but it doesn't take away the fact he is a very fine player.

He's one of those players that only the daft as a brush premier league would ever dream of spunking £20 odd million on. He's one of those Moyes type of utility player. Not top quality in any single aspect of the game, but can screen a defence, play a forward pass and get the odd goal.

Do we really need that or is our priority in terms of big cash outlays more in terms of getting another out and out forward, playmaker and GK?

I know what my priorities would be, and a player like Schneiderlin would be well down the to do list.

We need to get Timo Horn in goal, make an offer to Swansea for Sigurdsson, and then go and get someone like Hernandez from Leverkusen to partner Lukaku for the remainder of the season. I'd also make Burnley an offer for Keane.

Would Horn come to us? Agree about Sigurdsson and Keane... Hernandez is a goal machine like rom but doesn't link up play (like rom)... would love to see him with Sigurdsson behind him tho. Not bad shouts. Still wrong about Schneiderlin though
