Mahrez couldnt be as effective without the interventions and surety of Kante...his ability to break up play and release Vardy and Mahrez (high up the field) was essential to Leicester winning the title. I would think the rise and fall of Leicester and the rise of Chelsea, with addition of Kante, might debunk your argument slightly.I'm not saying they're unimportant. Kante provided a base for a player like Mahrez to play off. The latter won Leicester the title. He was the key player.
