Most embarrassing night as an Everton fan?

In fairness, it is kind of funny to imagine Moyes being sacked on the spot after just finishing 4th with a team that included Kevin Kilbane. Imagine the reaction
A humiliation is a humiliation. The club's worst defeat since 1949.

Not even in the same class mate. We were down to 10 men for half the game, and had a cup SF to prepare for.

No, those capitulations against Arsenal and Tranmere should have resulted in both Moyes and Smith being chased down Goodison Road and beaten with sticks.

I agree, you can't be too embarrassed about that derby game especially when you take into account all our players were trying to do was get the manager sacked and hang him out to dry in front of the world. I don't think I've cared as little about a derby defeat ever.

Always will be that 2nd half surrender at Wembley. Distin back pass still haunts me.

The fact I ended up in a one man social media war that day, losing 26 cultists in the aftermath made it a day to forget.

That was the end of Moyes for me.

1. Humiliated because of a team performance - the night, after losing earlier to Shrewsbury, bottom of the league, in the FA Cup.

2. Humiliated as a fan - going to the FA Cup 3rd place game (short lived divvy idea) 1971 Everton v Stoke @ Selhurst Park on the Friday night (before the rs v Arse the next day) ... consumed a voluminous quantity of ale pre match & then thinking we'd drawn 2-2 at the end, only to be told we'd actually lost 3-2. I must have been to the bogs & missed a Stoke goal. No wonder the idea got sacked, but the attendance was pathetic, maybe about 5K (not googled it). In fact the whole evening was humiliating thinking about it. Thank God for Charlie George the next day for a degree of redemption!

Liverpool fans singing that Bob barely don't last season

John stones going of with stomach cramps
Slate David unndsworth all
you want would never have happened with him

I left after the third goal saw Tony bellow walk out and Dave Watson walk out the executive stand

Awful night really awful

Yep forgot about the preperation for that cup game what was the result again??

The team were set up for a hammering it could have been 10 the kopites actually felt sorry for us and adopted our half assed tactics of passing it about between them at the back

You know its bad when the kopites take pity on us

The 4-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield. I'd gone to the Fiveways in Ormskirk with my brother-in-law and the place was full of reds. It was pretty soul crushing..

Wasn't pretty. But it was away with a backline already crocked and getting depleted by the minute.

I just cant view that result and performance in isolation from the weekend game that was looming.

The Arsenal mauling in our first home game of the season just had no excuse. Lescott was leaving but that was about it.

6-1 loss at home to anyone should be followed swiftly by a boot up the arse and a new manager in.

Dinamo Bucharest 5-1 Everton

I was on holiday in Turkey when i watched this game...... damn did that put one hell of a downer on the holiday and they Turks give me loads of [Poor language removed].

Some bad memories in here.

Those recent defeats to the RS were awful, just fortunate I wasn't there.

Arsenal at home first game of the season. First and only time I've left a game early. Heard us score from outside the ground.

That Distin Semi Final against the RS.

Right up there for me -
Benfica 5 - 0 Everton
Went out there with my dad and brother. Loads of ale. Ace stadium. Shi*e performance. Watching Gosling/Coleman get ripped to bits.

Oh god ... I've just remembered another one. Arsenal away when Tony Adams majestically runs the length of the pitch and slots. I was only young (10) and went with my Dad and Arsenal mates. Sitting with the home fans and got locked in so had to watch them lift the trophy whilst thinking we're going down. Went the Coventry game the next week and remember crying when Dublin scored that header that went through our keepers hands.

That McAllister last minute winner @ GP was bad as well. I need to stop now.

Just to check though, if we'd lost 6-1 at home under Roberto would you have called for his head? Would that result render the magnificent 72 irrelevant?
