The longer this goes (I realize it hasn't been that long) the more I want Martinez. I'm kinda depressed about it.

Understandable ... I'd be depressed too if I couldn't think of a better option for Everton Football Club than Martinez.

Even though i keep getting this horrid feeling of it being stubbs, i trust in DAVIDMOYES.

I may be remembering incorrectly but I thought the rumour at the time was that Stubbs was offered and accepted and DAVIDMOYES stepped in to say "Stubbs is not our new manager...chill." I took that as "he hasn't been offered the job" which was the rumour. I didn't take it to mean Stubbs was eliminated from contention ... just that he hadn't already been appointed (as was the rumour at the time). So your horrid feeling may have to stay for a while.

With this whole saga nearing its end (hopefully)...... Can we not have a fresh poll??????? Pretty please.... Surely a poll now would be alot more accurate???

I am fairly confident a new poll would see 65%+ for VP. I think even a lot of the people who were for Martinez have seen that in Pereira we could get a continental type who didn't just get relegated and doesn't have suspect defences.

I think some (not all but some) who want Pereira vehemently do NOT want Martinez.

Those who want Martinez would "settle" for Pereira. (Which is like "settling" for a Bugatti Veyron when it turns out you can't get a Skoda but whatever.)

This is good/bad news. I think he's most people's second choice if Pereira falls through.

Reading this thread I would disagree. It's true for some people but a lot of people really don't want Martinez. I'm not sure who my second choice is behind VP ... probably someone who isn't high in the odds like Girard. Martinez is so far down my list it's pointless to discuss.

To be honest the more I think about it, if we were to take a risk on a foreign manager untested in the prem, the more likely it sounds we would offer them a short contract especially if we were paying out zero in compensation!
