Everton are taking their time over a replacement for Moyes, and have denied reports in Portugal that Porto's coach, Vitor Pereira, has agreed a two-year deal at Goodison Park.

Wish they would deny any interest in Martinez,Stubbs et all

NO

These were easily the most two depressing posts that could've come next to each other in this thread. Why do I feel so deflated already even though I knew it was all jarg and rumour.

one of the Echo writers was on Talksport just now, saying Vitor Periera's people contacted Everton last week, not the other way round. I feel he's just dug a massive hole for the club there, as when Bill appoints Stubbs or Martinez a large number of us would be fuming knowing a proven winner (don't care what country) has been passed up in favour of a sentimental appointment with no experience or a man who built a team over a number of years (from a pretty poor team he inherited) and got them relegated.

Pereira's agent sounded out us ages ago mate according to british journalists based in Portugal!. He fancies a crack at managing in England and knows certain people on the board at Porto and fans dont want him so wants out and when he knew there was uncertainty about Moyes staying, he told his men to let it be known that he was interested in the job, by all accounts.

He is saying hugs to the manager. He had a good programme. And the chairman of Porto will tell us in 21 hours whether he stays or goes.

cheers mate you must think i'm thick but thats what i thought! tomorrow it could well be then! or not of course!

From everything you've heard now does it seem remotely possible that Everton have contacted any external candidate? Not a chance. There's only three irons in the fire and they all put cones out at FF. You've heard today that Bill's bird said she knows who it is and wont say. Well what's all that telling you? Do you really need it spelling out? I know it's incredible and **** and it's beyond a joke, but look no further than Weir on this. Done deal IMO. The feller linked with the Falkirk job three months ago will in all likelihood now be trundled forward as 'the significant' replacement for the outgoing Moyes. And you know what? After the initial shock when it's announced most will fall in with the official spin that he's a the right choice to continue the *great* work of Moyes and that he has massive respect amongst the squad yada yada yada....you KNOW it will be swallowed. Forget the alternatives, imo; they're not and never were going to happen.

Whats so wrong with david weird?

It's staring to get more than rumours. The Porto fans on the forum sounded pretty sure he was leaving. They were already think of a replacement.
