There's every chance that he could end up here yet.

I could understand the negativity if he was just some random name pulled out of a hat who didn't even know Everton existed, but he's contacted our club and let it be known he is interested in the managers position here.

I'm not fully convinced we will get him, due to our Chairman, but I'm not going to be negative and write it off completely.

I've heard this on here before, but how do you know that? Where's the proof?

Portuguese League = Dutch League except for the fact Porto and Benfica are much better than the top-2 in the Netherlands and mid and low level teams are defensively oriented in Portugal and offensively focused in the Netherlands.

Vítor Pereira had his chance to renew his contract with FC Porto last night. Didn't take it, so he's probably off. Everton next?

No comparrison between Portugeese and Scotish leagues, excluding Celtic you could prob buy most of the players in in the SPL for 70m

Vitor Pereira at Everton would improve them immensely in the transfer window and in psychological problems.

Le Professeur‏ @PureCatenaccio
Compared to Mourinho and AVB at times Vitor Pereira's only weakness IMO is his Pereira his inability to capture the hearts of the fans.

Maybe he did, but if he isn't saying it's not save face.

First, Pinto da Costa doesn't need face saving. He could announce tomorrow that his 25 year old hot Brazilian wife is the new head coach and most fans would support the decision and nobody would oppose it. You don't doubt Pinto da Costa. Just check what we've won before and after him.

Second, at least half of the fans dislike VP and want to move on, so even if it wasn't for the previous point, the face saving would be unnecessary.

As I said though, reading the tea leaves I assume he's leaving (and probably joining Everton) and that this is already a done deal, they're just not announcing it now.

Hope you're right mate. Thanks for taking time out to post for us. Nice to have some input from your side.

Which half of the fans are you in mate? Who is likely to substitute VP if he does leave?

Oh, and your English is better than most of the posters on this site (including mine). Are you Portuguese or a British expatriate who's adopted Porto as his team?

In the last 5 seasons, there have been 4 different teams in the top 2 positions of the Portuguese top flight - Porto, Benfica, Sporting Lisbon and Braga.

It's nowhere near as bad as the 2 horse race Scottish Leagues.
