Just out of curiosity, why isn't Lennon more popular? I watched maybe 2 Celtic matches since he's the coach there, but apparently he's being doing a fine job, no? What am I missing? Ditto for Bilic, Croatia played very good football under him, even though his record at Lokomotiv seems pretty mediocre.

How I'd rate those guys on the poll (to coach a Premier side):
Laudrup
Pereira
Lenon
Bilic
Martinez

Lennon is a horrible snide who has been banned numerous times in Scotland for touchline shenanigans. He's also very outspoken, which is a big turn off to many. He's not very dignified.

Bilic's stock has fallen greatly. He had 6 years with Croatia, but managing a national side is very different than managing a club side.

He's done very poorly in his first season with Lokomotiv Moscow, and it's been widely rumoured he may be about to get the sack shortly. They're 10th in a 16 team league with one game left, on 40 points, won 11 drawn 7 lost 11. He's also spent a few bob there too.

He's basically a Croatian version of Mark Hughes, living off a past reputation. As a club manager he has achieved nothing.

There's more to Pereira than that, I think. Heard some good things about him before.

But still, if you put it like this: who wouldn't fancy a trainer with 2 consecutive league titles over a manager that just got relegated and has been struggling for a few years now?

I'm in complete agreement, I think out of all the names that keep getting bandied around, Pereira is a no brainer. Some people are just scared that we might 'take a chance' and get it wrong.

Everyone we could pick is 'a chance'. At least Pereira has a very good track record that can be pointed to, as opposed to failure and mediocrity that nearly every other candidate has against them.

I don't know who I want to manage Everton, but I do know that if it was mark Hughes i'd piss into an eclectic socket from close range. I can't stand him from his Time at city

As much as it hurts to right this, you boys look like you have got our man. Malky is a top manager, moulds a real team and doesn't sign anyone who doesn't have the inner desire. He'll do well at your place IMO.

By the way, the Guardian states that our current part time Utd/part time EFC manager Mr Moyes will be going on holiday next week, and that he will be 'appointing his own Utd coaching team at some point in the near future'.

I hope we get a new manager in first , who then gets rid of Round & Woods first, before Utd 'swoop'. It would be nice if we as a club were seen to be proactive first, rather than Utd cherrypicking our manager, our players and our staff.

Unlikely mate, were not wanting to appoint a british manager.

No one wants him here. No thanks. We want Vitor Pereira.

Nah mate, it's not happening. Interest in him peaked a week ago. He's safe at Cardiff, no talk whatsoever up here in Liverpool about him.
