Did any of those previous managers have a neg net spend mate?

Or he plays in a gash league with only 2 good teams

Carry on though

4 different teams have finished in the top 2 positions in the last 5 seasons - Porto, Benfica, Braga, Sporting Lisbon.

Total myth that it's a 2 team league.

Also - Benfica reached the Europa League Final this season.
Porto vs Braga was the Europa League Final in 2011.

If the Portugese league is so crap, why have 3 different teams (including Braga) reached the Europa League final in the past 3 seasons?

My opinion is they are both a gamble. A gamble we need to take though. I am siding with Vitor.

What puts me off Martinez is his stubbornness to play a certain type of football regardless of the consequences. That has got Wigan relegated.

I got to agree with that. I like Martinez and his ideals but he does stick to his guns and continue to try and take the game to teams. Moyes knew how to win ugly and even though we played more adventurous this season he would at times revert back to ugly to see the game out. Not sure Martinez would do that. Still wouldn't mind him here as this would be the best set of players he has had and you never know.

Why would you 'expect' that? He's only achieved one thing - promotion from a lower league. As Cardiff will find out next season, the Premier League is a MASSIVE step up from the Championship.

Any half decent manager can get promoted - Warnock did it how many times? Every time he came up, he never lasted long.

Lets see how Mackay does with someone else in the Premier League first. Only then will we know if he's an Everton calibre manager. Maybe he's just a Cardiff-level manager.

neil wrnock is a great manager, sadl one in the big time his bosses dont like honesty - we might get relegated - often doesnt go down well. i love him just for hating on the re****e to be honest

Wigan even can't survive in a 3 teams league. And Port league is not as bad as you lot think. Porto, Benfica, Sporting and Braga...they may even done better than the English teams in Euro. Look at the the FIFA ranking Portugal are 5th.

villa looked like going down bar 2 results, to be honest. i dont think there was a third bad side after reading and qpr (who both deserved what they got). villa - 11 youth players building. do you relaly want them to do go down? no. me neither. newcastle - i used to hate them. rebuilt. a team of people who try... do you want them to go down? i dont care! sunderland? i dont care...

i guess my point is, i'm glad villa didnt go down playing youth players. i hope they do well next year. remember the games we had against them the last 5 years? proper football games.... your score 3 i'll score 4 affairs. all of a sudden they realise they have a really old squad and have sole their asset so bring in youth... this year they arent a team to beat and we forget the last 5 years battles with them.

good luck to them next year. they may be in better shape than us. i hope not. i hope we have a manage who can use our excellent 11 player and bring in another 6 young lads this year otherwise we are a bit fudged the year after... or the year after that...

i get your point, but there's no way villa are in better shape than us. It's all very well giving youth a chance, but if none of them are of a good quality then that doesn't stand them in good stead for next season. they'll get a good amount from benteke eventually, to rebuild with but they still need to build pretty much a whole new first team

Vitor winning the league over there is like Lennon winning it in Scotland, He had to over turn one team in Benfica

He was knocked out of both domestic cups by weaker teams as well, Thats the last sort of man we want

but its 12 good players. see the excuses when 3 players are injured for getting relegated. thet worriees me. unles she bring 6 players through, same problem,... small squad, injuries, etc
