That radio interview Jenny Seagrove gave a few days ago seemed to indicate she knew who the new manager would be but "her lips were sealed".

She was probably just popcorning, but it was interesting.

Exactly. I think weve offered the job to either Martinez or Pereira and either one of those will make a decision next week or after. If it was internal or anyone else, we'd of made moves already, especially in house!. The only people who are making decisions on there future in the coming weeks are Martinez and Pereira, and i think one of those is who were waiting for!.

Which ever one decides to leave there club next week, i think will be our new manager.

Kenwright as assured Moyes that everything that Moyes as put in place will not be jepardised
Stability and continuity being the key words.Be afraid

Very true. He's still under contract to Porto though until June 30th. Maybe they're not as completely stupid as our football club and actually enforce contracts.

Nobody is as stupid as Bill, the one chairman in a million that would have let the Kings Dock slip through their fingers. The chances of a good outcome to this manager selection process are concerning.

In this case, its fact that he has met with his current clubs hierarchy and that he holds them in some level of esteem - I don't think he'd jeopardise a potential new contract with them by making names up. Call me gullible, but if he has specifically named Everton then I for one think he must've spoken with us, otherwise he would have simply said 'two unamed top 10 EPL Clubs'. Additionally, going off how many on here see our Club as being amateurish at best, why would an agent use us to 'frighten' a very smart Portuguese chairman...there's better Clubs to popcorn with.
I don't know what's specifically been said by his agent (although if it's been translated via Google I'd hesitate to feel whatever he's said is compelling in any case), but I get the impression from the reaction f others who have that the nature of it is that he's commenting about speculation about his client rather than him saying he'd been in touch with EFC. The agent has to be careful yes, but they can feed off speculation without it looking like they're making stuff up and hoodwinking the current employer of his client. Generally in this whole debate on the new manager there's been some pretty imprecise language that's been run with and turned into 'hard information'.

Good point well made.

It's BILL we are talking about here lads, usual rules do not apply

Just another thought. Although Moyes is spending time with United already, I assume we're still paying his wages until 30th June. Is there any chance we're going to appoint an external candidate before this and pay their wages too? I don't think so.

And if Moyes is having or has already had a big say on his successor, can you really see him advising Kenwright to pursue someone like Pereira?

Yes defo. Think of the worst case scenario and it wont be far short of that. This managerial appointment isn't seen as an opportunity by Kenwright, it's viewed as a major problem. And Bill likes to see problems go away -
however it's achieved is just a minor consideration.

Tbh Bill should have told Moyes to sling his hook. If he wanted assurances that his work would be continued he should have stayed at Everton. Yes we don't need wholesale changes but a fresh approach would be nice
