I don't think he's in charge of player ins and outs at Porto though is he? The Chairman bloke there seems to do all of the buying and selling.
When Kenwright meets with Martinez etc. does anyone know who else meets with them? Is Bill doing all the interviewing alone? It'd certainly be a mad appointment if he had Ralph as DoF and Vitor as head coach. Don't they both prefer a high end pressing game as well? From what I've read of both, they appear to have similar tactical styles.
...got an early dart from work to watch the racing, look at Oddschecker for an update on out situation and see - RALF. Had a quick look but not detailed analysis of his CV and it reads better than Pereira, which is a relief. We always thought that there was a '3rd person in this relationship' but I didn't think it would be Ralf. Hats off to anybody who is on at big bucks, but the impression I'm getting is that we are most likely to go down the Martinez route which suits me.
Why are Neil Lennons odds staying the same? Scary that I tell ya, surely he should be 1000/1 at this point, never been so scared in my life.

No but really. How can you justify as a club that you gather the press' views, even though the PR-departement knows or could know with a single phone call if it's false or not?
I don't have anything against interviews being put on there, but Everton being linked with a random player and especially now with the new manager... don't do the View on Press thing in that case.
Or is it just me that has a problem with this?

It isn't his name that takes my fancy, mate, it's his managing/coaching record with a high profile, consistent, European
club and a long, solid apprenticeship at a high level.
The hype for a Manager who suffered 20 defeats and got his team relegated is the most worrying.

So, my view on whatever has happened:
Bill interviewed Vitor, which is his first choice (hence the invitation for Vitor to watch that game over the holiday period). In that interview, Pereira made clear that he isn't a manager in the English sence, as they don't do it that way over in Portugal. Bill agreed to go looking for a Director of Football, but interviewed Martinez in case he didn't find a suitable candidate for DoF.
Now that Ralfie is in the picture, and he wants to come, all is set for Vitor to arrive here.

Is it because you can't handle Suarez possibly leaving?
Pereira has managed in the English sense, hes managed lower league clubs who im fairly sure dont have a DOF and besides, all the DOF does is talk to the players and sign them, Bill and SunTan can do that no problem.
